Now before you line up in protest over my apparent heresy, hear me out.  With the hope of so many trusting in the simple yet powerful words of Scripture like:

Luke 1:37 (NIV)
37 For nothing is impossible with God.”

it might seem impossible to find something God Can’t do.  But I found one, God can not lie!

To lie would be to go against God’s own nature, and that is something else that God can not do.  While this might seem like simple word play I think this is a critical idea for us to wrap our faith around.  God Can Not Lie.   As you stop and ponder this you will discover that this means that all the promises of God are true.  Nothing he has said that he would do is a lie.  Paul reminds the Corinthians about this when he writes:

2 Corinthians 1:20-21 (NIV)
20 For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God. 21 Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us,

We can hold firm to the many promises of God for they all have been fulfilled and find their “Yes” in Christ. We can also trust in the motives of our God for they find their center in His heart for you and me.

Psalm 118:1 (NIV)
1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.

Romans 8:28 (NIV)
28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

1 Timothy 2:3-4 (NIV)
3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

Find a promise of God that speaks to you today, and hold tight to that truth, and trust in the one who is truth,

John 14:6 (NIV)
6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
